In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her first single, Here. The song was widely acclaimed by critics as well as listeners. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the best songs of the year. That same year she debuted the album she titled Know It All, the single Scars to Your Beautiful ranked on the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It also was among the first five songs. The track in question was unique because it was based on an interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners were inspired by her story through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara's tracks often contain positive thoughts about mental health and how important it is to love yourself. The music of Cara is directly from her struggle with depression, insomnia and other health issues. In a Reuters' interview, she's described her album half tumultuous however, it is half finished. She says she grew through therapy and she encourages anyone else to seek out help when they need it. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since the year 1996. Her parents are of Italian heritage. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar that became the foundation of her musical passion. In 2013, she covered some of her most loved songs on YouTube which is a well-known platform for media. This was to demonstrate that she had the capability and the self-confidence to become an artist. Sweater Weather became her most popular album. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
